Celebrate Women is a community project that asks you to get involved to elevate and empower girls and celebrating International Women's Day and supporting the Safer Streets Campaign
01 February 2023
Celebrate Women invites people of all genders and ages to take action, and get involved in a project that elevates and empowers girls and women in celebration of International Women’s Day 2023.
There are 2 ways you can get involved in this project for free:
Join Sam for a feel-good workshop on International Women’s Day, where we’ll craft and create posters & banners to celebrate women and female-presenting people who influence and inspire us everyday.
You are then invited to take your posters home to keep, or you can leave them with us ready for a march together through Barnstaple High Street on Saturday 11th March 2023, where passersby will see the names and messages you have created, celebrating women.
On Saturday morning, we’ll meet outside Barnstaple Coffee Shop and march together through the High Street with our banners, placards and posters, accompanied by a 10 minute soundtrack featuring local voices that celebrate girls and women, finishing at the Museum of Barnstaple and North Devon.
This is a community project supported by SPARKS Safer Streets Campaign and North Devon Council, to celebrate women, and to grow a sense of belonging and community to continue to create safer streets for girls and women.
To get involved, please book your space on Wednesday 8th March poster workshop here, and let us know you’ll be joining us for the march by booking herehere
